OMAHA, Neb.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--D3 Banking, a leading provider of solutions that replace aging online and mobile banking products with a single digital banking platform, today announced that its chief product officer and vice president of product ownership, Christina McGeorge, has been appointed to the executive leadership team of NACHA’s recently established API Standardization Industry Group (ASIG).
ASIG was formed to develop a standardized API ecosystem that better supports the payments and business needs of financial institutions, financial technology providers and other industry participants. ASIG will provide an “API Playbook” that articulates standards and best practices for leveraging APIs to boost security, transparency and efficiency of real-time initiatives.
“The very nature of digital banking is real-time communication, something the financial services industry is quickly embracing,” explained McGeorge. “Five years ago, as we started to build the D3 Banking platform, we committed to using open APIs within our architecture. So, I know firsthand how powerful of a tool they can be as I have seen our customers reap the benefits of this flexible infrastructure. I’m excited to collaborate with other industry influencers, leveraging our various backgrounds and perspectives, to work toward making payments and banking more secure, open and efficient with APIs.”
McGeorge has more than 25 years of experience in payments software architecture and development. Prior to joining D3 Banking, she held several design and leadership positions at ACI Worldwide, and went on to design interfaces for major card associations such as MasterCard and Visa. In her current role, McGeorge is responsible for the ongoing evolution and maintenance of D3 Banking’s next generation platform.
Open APIs have been the foundation of D3 Banking’s digital banking platform since its inception, making it one of the first fintech companies to recognize the power and advantage of the technology. By leveraging an open API strategy, D3 Banking enables seamless communication between systems, reducing cost and complexity for financial institution clients while delivering a consistent user experience. This extensibility has enabled D3 Banking to be first to market with a number of innovative services for its clients, the most recent of which allows consumers to conduct their banking using voice assistants, such as Amazon’s Alexa.
