HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Safety Vision, LLC, a market leader in mobile vision enhancement products, has recently completed outfitting the fleet of Kids’ Meals with the latest camera systems to increase the safety of the drivers and the children they serve. Kids’ Meals is a local Houston charity with a crucial mission to deliver thousands of healthy lunches to preschoolers who have limited or unreliable access to nutritious food.
Bruce Smith, founder and CEO of Safety Vision, is extremely proud to contribute to his community. “Kids’ Meals is an outstanding organization that has tasked itself with a great cause, helping to combat hunger in our city,” said Smith. “Our company was in a position to help them with a solution that will assist them in solving a unique problem and better achieve their goals.”
Kids’ Meals utilizes eight vans for its daily deliveries, and each is now complete with new Observer™ 4000 HYBs. These new hybrid video recorders are compact to fit in tight spaces and work with both traditional and high definition analog cameras, with the option to add an additional network IP camera. Kids’ Meals is using two SV-EXTCAMs, one on each side of the van, with a CP4 monitor mounted by the driver for vision enhancement. A 41AHD series camera is mounted in the cabin, capturing the van interior, the meals to be delivered, and driver.
This camera setup serves multiple essential purposes. The Kids’ Meals vans are always in close proximity to the children that often rush excitedly to greet them on their deliveries; the EXTCAMs working with the monitor allow the driver to maneuver safely, certain a child is not in danger. In the commotion that often happens when handing out meals, it’s also hard to keep track of who has received a meal and who has not. The cabin camera keeps an eye on the process and ensures the meals are distributed fairly. By reviewing this recorded evidence, Kids’ Meals has already been able to reduce losses and feed over a thousand additional children daily, maximizing donor’s dollars.
Shelly Descheneau, Director of Operations for Safety Vision, consulted with Kids’ Meals in the configuration of their systems, and Reema Taneja, Senior Project Manager, coordinated their installation. In addition to Descheneau and Taneja, Field Technicians Mark Kedda, Roger Callier, Dare Olufowose, and Derrick Johnson also contributed to the successful install.
Beth Harp, Executive Director of Kids’ Meals, expressed her gratitude: “Thank you Safety Vision, Bruce Smith, and the entire team who donated their time and resources to help us deliver hope every weekday to 4400 hungry children in our city!” Safety Vision is honored to invest in this essential local charity and looks forward to building even more relationships with Houston community organizations.
