SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Actiontec Electronics, Inc., the creator of ScreenBeam wireless display, announced today the launch of ScreenBeam Classroom Commander, a wireless classroom orchestration solution for Windows 10 /10 S equipped classrooms. ScreenBeam Classroom Commander redefines classroom orchestration, delivering all the functionality you expect from a premium orchestration solution while providing teacher and student mobility to present from anywhere in the classroom. ScreenBeam Classroom Commander promotes real-time interaction with wireless touch and touch back support, and enhances learning and problem solving with support of wireless inking native in Windows programs.
ScreenBeam Classroom Commander creates a private, in-room network in which all devices have a direct connection to the wireless display system, eliminating heavy LAN traffic, and expensive on premise servers. This wireless environment delivers classroom agility by allowing teachers to fluidly inhabit their entire classroom space, while interacting with the lesson being displayed. Mobility allows teachers to optimize collaboration and focus on students, making it easier to identify issues and help off-task students refocus, without interrupting instruction. Now students can share work right from their desks to avoid the anxiety of standing up and presenting at the front of the class.
Teachers monitor student activities with real-time updates on student screens. ScreenBeam Classroom Commander also allows teachers to manipulate and control content on student or teacher devices from a wireless touch display, augmented by native support of Microsoft Ink with Edge, OneNote, Windows 10 tools, and all other programs that support native inking. Guided learning is made easier with the ability to launch a URL or blank all student screens simultaneously, and instantly when the teacher wants the classroom’s attention.
“Actiontec has developed an elegant, yet powerful solution to wireless classroom orchestration,” said Anthony Salcito, vice president worldwide education, Microsoft. “I’m anticipating a wonderful reaction by our education customers committed to Windows 10 in the classroom.”
“ScreenBeam wireless display has been deployed across thousands of classrooms around the globe, giving us first-hand insight on the need for wireless connectivity in a 1:1 classroom environment, an initiative that is becoming commonplace,” said Mike Ehlenberger, vice president and general manager, ScreenBeam business unit. “With ScreenBeam Classroom Commander, our customers get an in-room hub for connectivity that is automated, extremely easy to use, and optimizes instructional time.”
ScreenBeam Classroom Commander will debut at ISTE 2017 and demos will be available at Actiontec’s booth #1326.
