Ellucian Achieves Amazon Web Services Education Competency Status

Higher education software provider on the leading edge of cloud technology, delivering solutions for the connected campus

RESTON, Va.--()--Ellucian, the leading provider of higher education software and services, announced today that it has achieved Education Competency status in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Partner Network (APN). This designation, announced at the 2017 AWS Public Sector Summit in Washington, D.C., recognizes that Ellucian has demonstrated technical proficiency and success building, deploying, and managing solutions that support the critical academic and business processes of higher education customers.

“We firmly believe that the cloud is the key to the modern, mobile, and connected campus so we are proud to achieve AWS Education Competency status,” said Jeff Ray, president and CEO of Ellucian. “AWS enables our solutions to reach their full potential – taking advantage of the security, extensibility, scalability, and availability that the AWS cloud provides.”

“AWS services for customers span across various industries,” Ray continued. “And Ellucian’s singular focus on higher education means that our customers benefit from cloud-based services and solutions that are specifically built to meet the complex needs of higher education.”

Ellucian’s cloud-enabled solutions drive institution-wide efficiencies in higher education, and help faculty and administrators fully support students. From student information systems, to HR and finance, to the full student lifecycle and campus-wide data integration, Ellucian’s solutions create a foundation for both operational and strategic processes that enable students to succeed. When institutions move to the cloud it allows them to efficiently support their faculty, administrators, and students, while freeing up critical IT resources to focus on innovation.

“Transitioning our Ellucian Colleague system to SaaS created a flexible, scalable, and secure model of continuous improvement and innovation that allows us to focus on our top strategic goal – ensuring student success,” said Dr. Jianping Wang, president of Mercer County Community College. “We now have the technology tools necessary to serve our students anytime, anywhere – which is the expectation of today’s mobile students – and we deployed it in just four months after kick-off.”
