LAFAYETTE, La.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Smart Choice Technologies announced today it has added nearly one million students over the past 12 months, serving more than 3.7 million students at more than 4800 schools.
Smart Choice is one of the nation’s largest providers of online application and enrollment software for public, charter and private PreK-12 school systems, including broad support for school choice.
The company also announced its introduction of two new features, a controlled open enrollment component and a mapping component that visualizes student applications using Google Maps.
Controlled Open Enrollment
Last year Florida passed Controlled Open Enrollment (COE) legislation that allows parents from any district to enroll their child in any public school in the state, provided openings are available. The Smart Choice COE component helps districts comply with the legislation and streamlines the application and management processes for parents and school administrators.
Mapping & Data Visualization
Additionally, Smart Choice has announced the addition of a powerful new mapping feature that allows school administrators to visualize the distribution of student applications on a Google Map. The visualizations can be filtered by program, grade, application status and placement list. The feature provides a new dimension of analysis to support the application management process.

Currently, the Smart Choice platform is deployed across 4,826 schools in 307 cities across 24 U.S. states, including two international deployments at the International School of Kenya and BASIS Global’s flagship school in Shenzhen, China.
