SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--PTC (NASDAQ: PTC) today announced from Augmented World Expo that the Vuforia® platform, the most widely used software platform for augmented reality (AR) application development, will support the Vuzix (NASDAQ:VUZI) M300 enterprise smart glasses.
Vuforia support for the Vuzix M300 will give more than 350,000 Vuforia developers a new option for deploying AR solutions for enterprise use. The Vuforia installed base of more than 40,000 applications will be able to be adapted for use on the M300 Smart Glasses.
The Vuzix M300 is a personal display and wearable computing device that enables users to improve existing workflows and open new opportunities in industrial, medical, retail, supply chain, and remote help desk uses.
“The Vuzix M300 is a proven device for hands-free mobile computing in the enterprise,” said Jay Wright, president, Vuforia. “We look forward to working with Vuzix to enable the M300 for a broader range of AR applications.”

This will help us deliver the optimal AR experience and a long-lasting battery life for our end users.”
Vuforia developers will be able to use existing tools including Unity and Android Studio to build applications for the Vuzix M300. PTC will also support the M300 through the public Vuforia developer forums and provide private support to Vuforia developers on a per-incident basis.
