Comoto Holdings Announces CEO

CEO to Oversee Both RevZilla and Cycle Gear

PHILADELPHIA--()--Comoto Holdings today announced that former adidas Group’s General Manager & SVP Nic Vu has accepted an offer to be its CEO. Comoto Holdings oversees a portfolio of retail brands that include RevZilla and Cycle Gear, two national leaders in the motorcycle enthusiast vertical. RevZilla and Cycle Gear are headquartered in Philadelphia, PA and San Francisco, CA respectively.

Nic brings more than 17 years of experience as an executive in both traditional and omni-channel retail. Most recently he was General Manager for adidas Group in North America, where he led the direct-to-consumer businesses, including a rapidly growing e-commerce division growing more than $100 million year over year as well as a brick-and-mortar retail division with a sales budget of more than $1 billion for both the adidas and Reebok brands. Over the last 10 years, the sales of these divisions grew by more than 10 times under his leadership.

Nic’s retail and e-Commerce background as well as his experience driving rapid growth and developing brands make him well-suited to lead Comoto as it seeks to expand RevZilla’s and Cycle Gear’s footprints with moto enthusiasts, while remaining true to each brand’s values.

“Nic’s retail background with an international brand like adidas, history as a rider, and leadership style make him a great fit to lead us,” said Matt Kull, Co-Founder, interim CEO of RevZilla and Board Director at Comoto Holdings. “He has a tremendous track record of bringing big-name companies to the next level, while maintaining the integrity of the brand and workplace culture and delivering a top tier customer experience.”

Matt Kull will return to his previous title as COO of RevZilla. He will continue to lead the company’s day-to-day operations across departments.

“The experiences and skillset Nic developed at adidas will greatly benefit Cycle Gear and further our current accelerated growth and profitability,” said Dan Nelson, COO of Cycle Gear. “We are thrilled to welcome Nic to the team and look forward to working with him in our next phase of growth.”

“I am thrilled to join Comoto and contribute to the growing market leadership of RevZilla and Cycle Gear in the United States,” said Nic Vu, incoming CEO of Comoto Holdings. “RevZilla has reinvented the moto enthusiast space in a short time, focusing on an excellent customer experience and brand loyalty. Cycle Gear has a long history in the motorcycle industry and a tremendous opportunity to expand its in-store experience more broadly. I’m excited to work alongside both teams to grow them into even better-known brands.”

Nic will be based at the RevZilla headquarters in Philadelphia.

RevZilla has continued to grow its employee base, expecting to hire more than 50 new employees by the end of 2017, bringing the total number of employees in the company to over 250.

Cycle Gear opened eight stores in 2016 and has plans to continue to grow its store count, taking advantage of significant white space opportunities.
