Spok Executives to Speak at 2017 C-Suite Events

SPRINGFIELD, Va.--()--Spok, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Spok Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: SPOK) and the global leader in healthcare communications, today announced that key executives will be participating in several upcoming events to discuss healthcare industry communication challenges with hospital leaders throughout the US. The events include the 2017 Healthcare IT Institute in June, the CIO Healthcare Exchange in October, and the HealthLeaders Media CNO Exchange in November.

“The healthcare industry has unique challenges when it comes to communications, and we welcome the chance to engage with industry leaders on how technology is impacting their organizations and what they see for the future,” said Vincent D. Kelly, president and chief executive officer of Spok Holdings, Inc.

As part of the Healthcare IT Institute event June 4-6 on Hilton Head Island, S.C., Spok President Hemant Goel will be presenting a thought leadership session titled “How to Bolster the Benefits of Your EHR by Improving Communications in Your Hospital.” The presentation will explore the ways an effective communications strategy and enterprise communications platform can build on EHR technology to enable care teams to communicate more fluidly. Goel and other members of the Spok leadership team will also meet one on one with health system CIOs to discuss the initiatives they are undertaking in their organizations.

At the CIO Healthcare Exchange event Oct. 25-27 in Dallas, Spok representatives will lead a discussion for healthcare executives on successful strategies for confronting communication challenges. The presentation will provide valuable insights and important considerations for senior leaders as they evaluate technology investments and develop plans for the future in light of the swift pace of change in healthcare today.

Later in the year, Dr. Nat’e Guyton, RN, MSN, CPHIMS, NE-BC, and Spok’s chief nursing officer, will lead a focus group discussion at the HealthLeaders Media CNO Exchange, scheduled for Nov. 6-8 in Scottsdale, Ariz. Dr. Guyton will explore the particular communication challenges faced by nurses, as well as discuss nursing leader priorities, including strategic planning, budget and personnel decisions, and the selection and implementation of new technologies.

At each of these industry events, Spok representatives will focus on how improved communication throughout an organization can strengthen patient outcomes.
