LOUISVILLE, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--“Ok Google” has become a staple in homes with voice recognition, from asking for recipe steps while cooking to checking the traffic for the commute to work. Adding to its leadership in the space, GE Appliances makes multi-tasking easier with its connected appliances integration with the Google Assistant. As one of the first major appliance manufacturers to offer a full suite of appliances that integrates with the Google Assistant, life is a little less hectic and a lot more fun.
“Everyone’s busy these days and our consumers are looking for simpler and more convenient ways to control their home, especially when busy in the kitchen or working around the house,” said Liz VerSchure, vice president responsible for GE Appliances connected strategy. “Integrating our full suite of connected appliances with the Google Assistant makes it easier for owners to control their appliances and get on with their day.”
Last year, GE Appliances integrated its connected appliances with Amazon’s Alexa using its Geneva skill. Now, with the Google Assistant integration, consumers can control their GE Appliances products by simply saying, “Ok Google, ask Geneva Home to set the oven timer for 10 minutes,” which will tell the connected oven to set its timer. A few other skills include:
- “Ok Google, ask Geneva Home to make hot water”
- “Ok Google, ask Geneva Home to turn on Sabbath mode”
- “Ok Google, ask Geneva Home if the dishes are clean”
- “Ok Google, ask Geneva Home to preheat the oven to 350 degrees”
- “Ok Google, ask Geneva Home is my laundry clean”
Available today, the entire GE Appliances connected suite of products will integrate with the Google Assistant enabled Google Home.
