BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Grandstream Networks Inc., connecting the world since 2002 with award-winning SIP unified communication solutions, is releasing a new WiFi access point for beta testing by the Grandstream Beta Club. Grandstream will be opening applications for the beta test of this new outdoor, long-range WiFi AP from May 16th to May 31st. To apply go to betaclub.grandstream.com.
For this new beta test, the Grandstream Beta Club is looking for experienced beta testers with extensive knowledge of the wireless networking market, specifically using WiFi access points with a variety of routers and in a wide-range of deployment scenarios. Ideal applicants are those with hands-on experience deploying wireless networks, especially those who have worked with networking products from vendors such as Cisco, Aruba, Ruckus, Aerohive, Ubiquiti, TP-Link and Mikrotik.
Grandstream has recently entered the networking solutions market with their debut of the GWN series of wireless access points and routers. The first product released to the market, the GWN7610 WiFi AP, has seen incredible success in the market, quickly garnering increased demand for new models. Grandstream has since introduced the GWN7600 WiFi AP and the GWN7000 Enterprise Router to expand the product line, and will further enhance the GWN series offering with the addition of a long-range, outdoor WiFi access point.
This new beta test showcases a long-range outdoor weatherproof (-30°C to 60°C) WiFi access point, featuring Wave-2 802.11ac with 2x2:2 MU-MIMO and beam forming technology. The WiFi AP supports wireless throughput of up to 1.27Gbps with up to 275-meter coverage range. The device includes 2 Gigabit network ports with integrated PoE (802.3af). Each AP can support 450+ concurrent WiFi devices. Most distinctively, the AP features an embedded controller that allows it to auto-discover, auto-provision and manage up to 30 other Grandstream APs in a network.
80 units of this WiFi AP will be available for shipping to selected Beta Club members around mid-June, 2017.
