Wrike Now Offers Microsoft Outlook Actionable Messages

Announced at Microsoft Build 2017, New Enhancement Enables Microsoft Office 365 Users to Leverage Collaborative Work Management via Microsoft Outlook

SAN JOSE, Calif.--()--Wrike, a work management software for high-performance teams, today announced the addition of Microsoft Outlook Actionable Messages to Wrike email notifications. Actionable Messages, which was announced today at the Microsoft Build Developer Conference, embed actions within Outlook email messages. The addition enables Office 365 users to leverage collaborative work management features to easily convert emails into action.

“Making all elements of work and collaboration more effective is at the core of what we do,” said Wrike CEO and Founder Andrew Filev. “Actionable Messages reflects Microsoft’s commitment to help organizations achieve more as well as our own vision of making teams insanely productive. This capability allows knowledge workers to stay in Office 365 and empowers them to get things done through Wrike. Such enhancements are critical especially in the enterprise where collaboration within teams and between teams is vital to success."

The sheer proliferation of communication and collaboration tools has led to an ecosystem that can be cumbersome to navigate, particularly for enterprises which have multiple teams that must work cross-functionally. This places a greater imperative on having a seamless connection between complementary tools to maximize output. With the addition of this functionality to Wrike email notifications, users can easily take actions on projects. They can now add comments, set due dates, and change statuses, right from an email message, making email much more actionable.

“The inclusion of Actionable Messages in Microsoft Outlook from our ecosystem partners, helps strengthen the overall Office 365 experience we're delivering to our users,” said Rob Howard, director, Office Ecosystem at Microsoft Corp. “Wrike shares our vision of enabling people to collaborate effectively in all facets of work.”

The addition of Actionable Messages is the latest development in Wrike’s broadening enablement with Office 365 services to bolster task management and collaboration. In March, Wrike announced its integration with Microsoft Teams to allow Office 365 users to manage tasks and projects directly from the Teams chat-based interface, providing stronger work context to chat messages.

Previous enablements include integrations such as the Wrike Add-in for Office 365; Microsoft OneDrive for file storage and sharing; and Office 365 Single Sign-On for centralized identity management. The company will continue to deepen Microsoft integrations through this year with a Wrike Outlook add-in, which will allow users to create and manage tasks from Outlook.
