DAVIS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--TechAccel, a Kansas City-based technology and venture development company, today announced it will sponsor the AgInnovation Showcase, May 8-9, 2017, at the University of California-Davis.
This new forum is launched by The World Food Center at UC-Davis and Larta Institute to showcase emerging commercial innovations for high value, nutritious agriculture and food.
“We recognize the need for innovation in the ag and animal health ecosystems to secure the future of our food chain,” said Michael Helmstetter, Ph.D., President and CEO of TechAccel. “Sponsoring the AgInnovation Showcase is an opportunity to discover and network with emerging technology innovators in this high-value area.”
TechAccel is a partner with UC-Davis in research ventures and funds the UC-Davis STAIRTM-Plus Grant program. Under the collaboration between TechAccel and UC-Davis, TechAccel has agreed to initially fund up to four projects at up to $100,000 each. Successful STAIR-Plus program graduates will also be eligible for the TechAccel Emerging Company investments which can exceed $1 million.
TechAccel also has served as an annual sponsor of the Larta Institute’s annual AgInnovation Showcase in St. Louis. In 2016, TechAccel co-sponsored a new University Showcase at the event, highlighting promising early-stage innovations from six major research institutions.
