AUBURNDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Board of Directors of Comcar Industries announced the appointment of Michael P. Ryan to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer. Ryan, who will also hold a seat on the Company's Board of Directors, began his assignment with the company on April 17, 2017.
Ryan joins Comcar Industries with over thirty-five years of experience in freight transportation including leadership roles in the truck, class 1 rail, inland marine barge, and coastwise ocean shipping sectors. Most recently, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of US Shipping Corp (USSC) in Edison, NJ., a leading provider of long-haul marine transportation for petroleum and chemical cargoes in the U.S. coastwise trade. Prior to USSC, Ryan was the President and Chief Executive Officer of American Commercial Lines (ACL) in Jeffersonville, IN. ACL, a major Jones Act inland marine transportation company, manufactures a variety of barge types and ships liquid and dry cargo products in its own fleet of nearly 2,000 barges. Before joining ACL, Ryan also held senior leadership positions directing several commercial business units with CSX Transportation.
