iDesign and the University of Pittsburgh Join Forces to Develop Innovative MBA Courses

Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business and instructional design firm to build MBA programs that incorporate the latest in blended learning pedagogy and technology

DALLAS--()--iDesign today announced a new partnership with the University of Pittsburgh that is designed to provide blended learning options for students in the school’s Professional MBA and Executive MBA in Healthcare programs. Through this partnership, Katz will develop blended graduate offerings that are custom-designed at the course level for individual faculty members. These courses will leverage the best of face-to-face instruction as well as the pedagogical opportunities afforded by instructional technology to create learner experiences that engage, challenge, and meet the needs of today’s working professional.

“iDesign’s commitment to learning design gave us the confidence that the courses developed in a blended format would enhance the student experience and in no way compromise the rigor and quality of Katz MBA programs,” said Rabikar Chatterjee, Associate Dean of the Katz School of Business. “Their unbundled approach gave us the flexibility to choose only the services we needed, while their faculty-centric course design approach promised the level of support to our faculty through the development process to ensure the best possible quality of the finished product.”

With MBA and executive MBA programs ranked in the Top 25 and Top 10 of U.S. public institutions respectively, the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business emphasizes experience-based learning, personalized professional development, and a global perspective. These concepts can be difficult to convey online without the right tools and technology. Through their partnership with iDesign, university leaders hope to extend their unique pedagogical model to better engage students through online and blended offerings.

“Our collaboration with the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business is rooted in a deep commitment, on both sides, to effectively leveraging emerging pedagogies and technologies to create exceptional learner experiences,” said Paxton Riter, chief executive officer of iDesign. “Our instructional design and consultative services give administrators and faculty confidence that they are putting forward the best in digital education.”
