AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--IOMAXIS LLC, a leader in innovative computing and communication technologies, announced today that it has been granted two new patents for novel security approaches in the area of cloud-based computing by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The patents, which give the company ownership of two unique approaches to identifying threats in cloud-computing environments, serve as part of IOMAXIS’ new cloud security practice. The establishment of the new practice provides commercial and federal clients unparalleled protection from internal and external threats within cloud-computing environments.
“At unprecedented rates, consumers and businesses are migrating their data to the cloud. Third-party applications now have access to personal data, images and more, yet individuals and organizations will not be prepared for security threats if they do not have adequate physical and cyber protections in place,” said Brad Buhr, the founder and managing partner of IOMAXIS. “These patents help us change that. By leveraging exceptional software applications, security measures, processes and controls, IOMAXIS’ singular approach to comprehensive cloud security will dramatically enhance the protection of our clients’ resources from pending threats, keeping company and user data more secure than ever.”
The technology disclosed in U.S. Patents 9,298,489 and 9,542,213 provides a mechanism for users of virtual machines to assess the software and hardware security posture in trusted and untrusted cloud-computing environments. By monitoring different hardware and software parameters, the technology can identify changes in the system and evaluate the risk. The patents help evaluate changes in software by checking against known threats, and an additional statistical analysis tool enables users to evaluate the significance of a change to determine if it is part of a larger trend. This type of insight into a cloud-computing environment enables users to make educated decisions regarding a system’s state, allowing administrators to determine if an environment has been compromised, and ultimately improving the protection of users’ privacy and safety in cloud-computing environments.
“The issuance of these patents demonstrates IOMAXIS’ continued commitment to innovation and leadership in cybersecurity,” said David Branca, director of research and development at IOMAXIS. “As we expand our research and development efforts, we will continue to align and fortify our intellectual property portfolio with market needs and emerging technology trends.”
As security needs continue to evolve, IOMAXIS remains committed to providing the most advanced technology solutions to customers throughout the commercial and federal sectors. For more information on their services and solutions, please visit www.iomaxis.com.
