- The US has 13 planned ammonia projects adding capacity of about 6.2 mtpa by 2020. Capex for these projects totals US$3.20 billion over the next five years. Major capacity additions will be from C.F. Industries Holdings, Inc. and Cronus Corporation.
- In Asia, India has 9 planned ammonia projects adding capacity of about 5.7 mtpa in the coming years, and plans to spend US$6.30 billion over the next five years. Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited is the top company accounting for the major capacity additions in India.
- In Former Soviet Union, the majority of capacity additions are in Russia, with planned capacity additions of about 3.4 mtpa by 2020. Capex for these projects totals US$2.70 billion by 2020. Eurochem Mineral and Chemical Co. is the top company accounting for the major capacity additions in Russia.
- In Africa, ammonia capacity additions are in Nigeria, with planned capacity additions of about 4.2 mtpa by 2020. Capex for these projects totals US$1.70 billion in the coming years. Dangote Group is the top company accounting for the major capacity additions in Africa.
- In South America, the majority of capacity additions are in Brazil, with planned capacity additions of about 1.7 mtpa by 2020. Capex for the projects totals US$1.20 billion by 2020.
