SHI Posts $7.56 Billion in Revenue for 2016

SOMERSET, N.J.--()--SHI International Corp., one of North America’s top 15 largest IT solutions providers, ended 2016 with $7.56 billion in revenue, a 12 percent year-over-year increase. Domestically, all SHI sales divisions experienced significant growth, led by a 16 percent gain for the Corporate and SMB division, 13 percent for Public Sector, and 8 percent in the Commercial and Strategic Enterprise space. Strong growth outside the U.S. continued, led by a 22 percent increase in the United Kingdom division.

SHI achieved many milestones in 2016, surpassing the $7 billion revenue mark and topping 3,500 employees, each for the first time. The company earned 10 major awards recognizing SHI’s culture, successful partnerships, service, and success, including seven partner of the year awards,as well as top employer honors from both Forbes (America's Best Employers 2016) and the Austin American-Statesman (Top Workplaces 2016).

SHI also celebrated the opening and first full year of operation for its new Integration Center, which doubled its warehousing and hardware configuration capacity. In December, SHI also soft-launched its Customer Innovation Center (CIC), a “sandbox” data center on the main SHI campus in Somerset. The center will let customers review newly released technology and test hardware, software, and data center solutions from any partner in a simulated, secure environment. A formal grand opening of the CIC is planned for later this quarter.

Four of SHI’s top 10 partnerships saw double digit growth in 2016, including a 24 percent jump in Cisco revenue and 13 percent from its largest and most mature partner, Microsoft. SHI remained Microsoft’s largest North American and global channel partner. VMware, Adobe, Dell, HP Inc., Lenovo, Apple, HP Enterprise, and Oracle rounded out SHI’s top 10 partners in 2016.

Among the most significant partner growth was the 242 percent year-over-year jump from Amazon and its Amazon Web Services (AWS) offerings. Combining continued exponential growth with an enhanced AWS services offering coming in Q2 2017, SHI expects Amazon to become a top 10 partner in 2017.

Other emerging partners across the software, cloud, security, and data sectors include top 25 partners Tableau Software, with 32 percent growth; CommVault, with 32 percent growth; Red Hat, with 58 percent growth; Nutanix, with 85 percent growth; and Pure Storage, with 111 percent growth.
