SPRINGFIELD, Pa.--()--Gap International, a global performance consultancy, recently hosted business leaders, veteran business owners, and transitioning military personnel to discuss how to powerfully translate military experience into business results. Gap International’s Retired Army Captain Larry Liss, Retired Lieutenant Colonel Henry Fischer, and former Marine Officer and current Vice President at Gap International, Andy Hooper, led the discussion about how veterans can bring leadership experiences and capabilities to corporate environments. The event introduced methods to identify barriers that block extraordinary performance, uncover the thinking that drives innovation, and deliver performance above and beyond the norm.

“The Veteran community is a very tight-knit, well-connected network of extraordinary men and women,” says Liss. “There are many corporate hiring initiatives and the talent is there. All of us who are dedicated to this community are committed to shifting the conversation from transitioning, to ensuring success in corporations, in running businesses, and in civilian life. We are all committed to veterans reaching their full potential.”

Gap International’s methodology is based on changing mindsets to shift the performance of individuals, teams, and organizations.

“Military personnel often confuse the cause of their great leadership and contribution. Rather than their own capabilities, they might credit the military circumstances they were in,” said Fischer. “But the common denominator for great performance in military life and business life is themselves—their own mindsets.”

Gap International’s Veterans Business Services was created to help veterans translate proven strengths acquired from military service to business settings. This division will partner with corporations that have veteran hiring initiatives, and veteran-owned businesses, to develop veterans into successful business leaders producing exceptional results.

The Veterans Business Services division has developed multiple programs tailored for veterans to maximize their leadership skills and impact private sectors. For inquiries, please contact VeteransBusinessServices@gapinternational.com.
