DUBLIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Research and Markets has announced the addition of the "Base Metals Mining in the Philippines to 2020 - a Focus on the Nickel Industry" report to their offering.
According to the Philippines Mines and Geosciences Bureau, of the total 44 operating metallic mines in the country, 27 are of nickel. Other metals account for the remainder which includes gold, silver, copper and chromite. The Philippines had 3.1Mt of nickel reserves as of January 2015, accounting for approximately 3.8% of the global total. Nickel deposits in the country are predominantly associated with laterite ores (limonite being a member of the laterite family), but are also found in dunite, pyroxenite and gabbroic rocks as stated by the Philippines' Mines and Geosciences Bureau.
