BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Buildium, the property management solution for real estate professionals, announced that it has achieved significant growth and strategic corporate milestones in 2016. In addition to securing a $65M strategic investment from Sumeru Equity Partners (SEP), Buildium released two major product updates, expanded its award-winning customer success team and was recognized as one of the fastest growing private companies in the country.
“Buildium’s growth and expansion in 2016 is a testament to the unwavering dedication of our team, including delivering on our common company goal of helping each and every one of our customers succeed,” said Michael Monteiro, co-founder and CEO of Buildium. “By working to enhance our products with key updates and taking on strategic investments to expand innovation and grow our team, among other achievements, Buildium has continued to support the diverse and ever-changing needs of today’s property managers.”
Expansion through Hiring and Strategic Investments
In June 2016, Buildium announced a $65 million strategic investment aimed at accelerating product innovation and furthering the company’s customer-first focus. By delivering on these two priorities, Buildium added more than 1,000 new customers to reach a total of more than one million units under management.
Buildium also focused on expanding its team, growing its total global employee count by nearly 23 percent. In 2016, Buildium’s Seattle office also expanded its dedicated customer care team to better support and respond to customer inquiries.
Advancements in Product and Partnerships
Responding directly to customer requests and needs, Buildium introduced two major product updates in the past year, including:
- eLease – Through an integration with e-sign from Adobe Document Cloud, Buildium’s eLease service makes it easier for property managers to generate digital leases, complete applicant-to-tenant workflow and communicate with rental applicants, reducing the timely process of physical leases.
- Property Inspections – Via a partnership with HappyCo, Buildium’s property management software utilizes the power of HappyCo’s Happy Inspector mobile app to transform the traditional building inspection process by simplifying how property managers track, complete, record and share field inspections.
Similarly, Buildium introduced updated features around tenant tracking for condominium and homeowners associations, eSign for ePay and new reporting capabilities.
Industry Recognition Across Customer Success and Company Growth
According to customer insights company Metrical, Buildium achieved unprecedented customer satisfaction and customer experience metrics in 2016, as compared to other SaaS organizations. The report explored nine customer-centric categories, with Buildium achieving improvement across each category. This research, along with two 2016 Stevie Award recognitions – in Contact Center of the Year and Best Use of Technology in Customer Service categories – are further proof of Buildium’s dedication to superior customer service.
Buildium’s company growth and leadership expertise were also recognized in 2016, with the company being named to the Inc. 5000 list for the fifth consecutive year, the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 for the second consecutive year and as a finalist in the 2016 MITX Awards for Best Employee Efficiency Technology. Further, Monteiro was named a 2016 semifinalist in the EY Entrepreneur of the Year New England regional program.
“Buildium’s award-winning staff and industry-leading platform has ensured that we are in the best position possible to serve our customers and continue to transform the property management industry in the coming years,” said Monteiro. “We look forward to a successful 2017.”
