INDIANAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Zotec Partners (Zotec), the industry leader in physician billing and practice management services for physician practices and health systems nationwide, is pleased to announce it has achieved compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS) Version 3.2 as a certified Level 1 Service Provider. The certification is an instrumental facet of the company’s security and compliance best practices and standards surrounding its online payment portal, mobile payment platforms and other elements of the patient experience pertaining to the healthcare revenue cycle.
PCI DSS is a comprehensive card security standard regulated by the worlds’ leading credit card companies, including American Express, Discover, JCB, MasterCard and Visa. The standard evaluates data security of credit card payment applications and service providers by assessing a business’s network architecture, technology platforms, security policies and data protection procedures. The attestation is required by any provider who stores, processes or transmits cardholder data.
According to Zotec’s Executive Vice President of Quality and Compliance, Ned Campbell, the certification is critical for ensuring the company’s credit card security practices keep pace with the ever-changing data security landscape. “As part of our commitment to develop and maintain programs, policies and controls essential to today’s ever-changing healthcare security challenges and increasing regulatory complexity, we have engaged external experts to test and validate our systems, processes and controls against the latest and most mature set of PCI compliance standards,” Mr. Campbell says.
Zotec’s Founder and CEO, T. Scott Law remarks that Zotec’s PCI certification continues to build upon the foundation of the company’s commitment to its clients and their patients. Mr. Law notes, “Zotec has a depth of resources and expertise in its security and compliance programs that are the best in the industry. It is made up of thorough policies and programs, expert staff, educated and engaged employees and data security practices, as well as auditing and monitoring processes that are dynamic and continually evolving to respond to regulatory changes and industry trends.” He goes on to say that the PCI DSS Certification aligns well with Zotec’s recent SOC-2 Certification, which focuses on a business’s controls related to the security, availability, integrity, confidentiality, and privacy of information and systems. “Our physician clients are always at risk, and so by achieving these critical benchmarks in data security, we are able to protect them from potential security threats while also enhancing their reimbursement and helping them meet their financial goals,” Mr. Law adds. “With Zotec Partners, revenue cycle management can ultimately be a worry-free process for healthcare providers and their patients.”
Zotec is one of the largest revenue cycle and practice management providers in the country, serving thousands of hospital-based physicians in multiple specialties.
