HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Earlier this year, the nonprofit Digital Promise launched an effort to collect and evaluate quality examples of how ed-tech companies conduct and use research in designing and improving their products. Some 53 ed-tech companies shared an array of approaches in three submission categories: Learning Sciences, User Research, and Evaluation Research. Representatives from Teachers College, Columbia University reviewed the submissions and awarded Accelerate Learning™ an honorable mention in the User Research Category for its continuous use of research to understand user behaviors and needs, and its systematic use of the data to constantly improve its STEMscopes™ preK-12 products.
Since STEMscopes was introduced in 2007, Accelerate Learning has conducted an array of research to evaluate teacher and student usage, as well as the effectiveness of the STEMscopes products. This research includes formative evaluation studies with school districts, effectiveness studies using data from statewide achievement tests, and user-wide studies.
