BUSAN, South Korea--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Korea’s largest global game exhibition ‘G-STAR 2016 (Game Show and Trade All Round 2016)’ opened on November 17th(Thursday) at Bexco in Busan.
653 companies from 35 countries all over the globe are participating in ‘G-STAR 2016’, hosted by the Korea Internet Digital Entertainment Association (K-iDEA), boasting 2,719 booths (a 3.1% growth over the previous year) which is the largest ever to take place in history.
The B2C Exhibition Hall holds 1,530 booths, a 5.5% increase over the previous year, while the B2B Exhibition Hall holds 1,189 booths; together they make up the largest showing ever in history.
In the B2C Exhibition Hall, Sony (SIEK) is operating a collaborative ‘G-STAR VR Special Exhibit’ which spans all platforms including online, mobile, console, and even VR, giving the exhibit a global game show appearance.
As far as the events, there is the International Game Conference (‘G-Con 2016’) as well as the game investment market that provides a venue for Korean small-to-mid-size game developer companies to meet domestic and foreign investors and publishers, and explore investment attraction and publishing opportunities. These two events take place on November 17th and 18th respectively.
Meanwhile, this year as well, ‘G-STAR 2016’ is heading a variety of e-sports and event programs at the local site as well as broadcasting them worldwide through its global media partner company Twitch.
