EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Radiology Partners (RP), the largest on-site physician-led radiology practice in the United States, today announced a new partnership with Radiology Associates of Southeastern Ohio (RASEO), a leading subspecialty radiology group serving three health systems in the Zanesville area east of Columbus. With the addition of RASEO, Radiology Partners serves approximately 200 hospitals, clinics and imaging centers in seven states.
“We are very excited to welcome the radiologists of RASEO to our team,” said Rich Whitney, Radiology Partners’ Chairman and CEO. “Their high standard of care and patient service will be assets for our practice as we strive to deliver outstanding and distinctive clinical value. We value the long relationships RASEO has with local hospitals and referring physicians in its area, and we expect that this partnership will help further accelerate our growth throughout Ohio.”
Founded over 60 years ago, RASEO has a firm commitment to providing its radiologists with training and support to ensure patients receive the best quality of healthcare. For example, the practice recently implemented the American College of Radiology (ACR) best practices for biopsy follow up, whereby RASEO radiologists conduct post-procedure outreach to referring physicians to ensure proper follow up care has been carried out for each patient. Once sufficient data is available, RASEO intends to share its results with the ACR. This initiative aligns well with the work RP has done in reducing variability in incidental thyroid nodule detection and management, and its more recent focus on adnexal cyst and abdominal aortic aneurysm follow up, programs that enable RP to enhance appropriate care and reduce expensive downstream healthcare utilization.
“We are thrilled to partner with Radiology Partners. As we transition into value-based care, we recognize the value Radiology Partners brings to our radiologists, referring physicians and patients,” said Shane Backus, M.D., President of RASEO. “This partnership will provide us with additional subspecialty radiologists for support, along with innovative clinical programs and technology. We look forward to continuing to serve our referring physicians as a local practice with the advanced capabilities of a large national practice.”
RP’s partnership with RASEO adds to the rapid growth of the practice in the Midwest, specifically in the Ohio region. The announcement of this agreement comes two months after RP announced its partnership with Columbus Radiology, a leading subspecialty radiology group serving 45 total sites, 15 hospitals and eight health systems in Ohio. In 2015, RP partnered with Radiology Associates of Canton in Canton, Ohio and has also added several new hospital clients throughout the region.
The definitive agreement between Radiology Partners and RASEO is subject to usual and customary closing conditions and other business approvals.
