SocialVend™ Launches the vendmini at ad:tech New York 2016

NEW YORK--()--ad:tech New York 2016, the original industry authority for advertising, marketing and media technology, announced that it will host the launch of SocialVend™, a new company that delivers socially activated vending machines with cutting edge technology, at its show in New York City on November 2 and 3.

The first SocialVend product, the vendmini™, will be in market November 1, in timing with ad:tech’s 20th anniversary, and its signature November 2-3 show at Javits Center in New York City. The presence of exciting companies like SocialVend™ at ad:tech NY 2016 is in keeping with the focus on the new era of innovation, as ad:tech revitalizes its mission to connect marketing’s most creative thinkers with the coolest technologies in the world.

How it Works

The vendmini™ is a socially activated vending machine with a small footprint for marketing campaigns, in-store sampling and promotional giveaways. This new experiential approach introduces an entirely new way to interact with consumers. Detecting social actions across channels determined by the brand, the system rewards consumers in return for their social engagement.

“To trigger a vend, our clever little machines prompt users to post to social media with their mobile devices using the brand’s hashtag, as our system constantly scours social networks for uses of the brand’s #tag and matches the posts with the user at the machine, rewarding them with a physical gift for their social action,” said Co-founder Andrew Theodore. “In turn, brand awareness increases to all of that user’s friends, creating immediate, extended brand engagement and building lasting brand affinity.”

To ensure each execution is on brand, the machines can be wrapped in graphics and have a fully customizable software interface. It can be filled with product samples, cosmetics, promotional giveaways, gift cards and the like. In addition, a brand team can run surveys and data-capture generating valuable market research and marketing data.
