Sparks Fly When Tulsa Welding School® Launches 360-Degree Virtual Reality, Introducing Welding Profession to Students at 2016 National FFA Convention & Expo

What Will Your Life Look Like? Take the Interactive Tour and Watch Live Welding Demo at Booth #1435 on Wednesday, October 19, 2016

PHOENIX--()--Today, Tulsa Welding School®, the largest welding school in the U.S.1, will debut a 360-degree virtual reality video (https://www.weldingschool.com/tws360/) that gives viewers a choice of which career path they could choose: a dead end job, or a professional welder working in a variety of environments. The video highlights the locations where welders can most often be found: on top of a skyscraper, working on a ship, and in a traditional welding shop.

“Tulsa Welding School is excited to debut our 360-degree VR video at this year’s FFA Convention & Expo,” said Shelly Short, Marketing Director, StrataTech Education Group. “We believe this 360 virtual reality experience is the first of its kind in skilled trades education. It offers a unique way to engage in a dialogue with students and parents about what TWS offers, and the many career opportunities available for welders,” Short said.

The TWS 360 VR Tour will be shown to visitors at the booth using the latest in virtual reality technology. TWS will also provide cardboard VR viewers for students to take home and view the video online through YouTube, making the welding VR experience even more accessible. During the FFA Convention & Expo, TWS will interact with attendees and the public, using live Facebook events, Instagram, and Snapchat geofilters. After the TWS 360 video launch at the FFA convention, TWS representatives will show the video to students around the country bringing 360 virtual reality welding into high school classrooms and homes.

Meet Tulsa Welding School at Booth #1435

Students and parents who visit the booth will have an opportunity to watch a live welding demonstration, view the VR video, speak with a high school representative, obtain information about programs, and schedule an in-person tour at one of the campuses. TWS is a proud co-sponsor with the James F. Lincoln Arc Welding Foundation for Agricultural Education-Entrepreneurship/Placement, one of the National Agricultural Proficiency Awards, which awards thousands of dollars in scholarships to FFA members across the country.
