“We expect that Asia Pacific will continue to lead global growth in terms of subscribers (+2.83% CAGR) however, even in this formerly high-growth region, service revenue over the next 2 years will remain flat,” added Mr. Assanie.
Notable highlights of IEMR’s latest Forecast include:
- For the carriers that we track, data revenue will reach $115.4 billion in the next two years while Data ARPU will remain stable at approximately $4.70 in 2Q.2018. For the first time since we started collecting data over the last 11 years, data revenue will now surpass voice revenue.
- We are forecasting flat EBITDA growth over the next two years. Globally, we expect EBITDA to increase by 0.9% in the next year to 2Q.2017.
- We continue to expect a decline in carrier Voice Revenue and Voice ARPU, with Voice Revenue declining to $90 billion in 2Q.2018 and Voice ARPU declining to $9.48 per subscriber per month, on average.
