EMERYVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CEP America, one of the largest multi-specialty clinical staffing experts in the nation, has partnered with two Illinois hospitals to bring its proven approach to care improvement to hospital medicine, emergency medicine, critical care and post-acute care.
Memorial Hospital Belleville has partnered with CEP for its Critical Care services, marking an expansion of the hospital’s existing Emergency Department (ED) and hospital medicine programs with CEP. In addition, the newly opened Memorial Hospital East in Shiloh has partnered with CEP for its ED and In-Patient services, and will launch critical care services in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in January of 2017 – giving both facilities fully integrated acute care programs. Both hospitals are located in the Metro-East region of the St. Louis Metropolitan Area in Southern Illinois.
“We are pleased to announce the expansion of our relationship with the CEP America team,” said Mark J. Turner, president of Memorial Regional Health Services. “We believe in the importance of coordinated and integrated care, as well as building the infrastructure to support excellent team-based care. CEP has proven to be a valued partner in our efforts, and we look forward to continuing to serve the healthcare needs of our community through this partnership.”
Critical Care services provided by CEP America will include staffing by intensivists, physicians trained in caring for patient with critical needs, as well as physician assistants and nurse practitioners. Working together with Memorial Hospital nurses and other care team members, the two teams will develop and implement a coordinated and integrated approach to care. For patients and care providers alike, the value of this approach is reduced lengths of stay, improved satisfaction and better outcomes.
Best known for its emergency and hospital medicine program, CEP America launched its critical care program in 2015 as part of its expansion into multi-specialty acute care, which now includes anesthesiology, emergency psychiatry, and telemedicine. The ICU program provides comprehensive, 24/7 evaluation and management of patients facing life-threatening illness or injury. The integrated approach with the emergency department, hospital medicine, and other inpatient departments ensures patients receive consistent care and transition seamlessly across settings.
“When patients face an illness that requires admittance to an ICU, those patients and their loved ones want the best care possible,” said Matthew Stilson, MD, FACEP, regional director of the Midwest/Illinois Region for CEP America. “The leadership of Memorial Hospitals is committed to ensuring their patients get the best care possible. We are honored they have chosen to partner with our team to provide the specialized care required across acute care settings.”
