Centrify Enables Secure BYOD Initiatives with Day One Support for New macOS Sierra Operating System

Centrify also delivers compatibility support for mobile devices that upgrade to iOS 10

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--()--Centrify, the leader in securing enterprise identities against cyberthreats, today announced that Centrify Identity Service delivers day one support for the just-released macOS Sierra operating system for Macs. Centrify Identity Service also recently released day one support for iOS 10, allowing organizations to confidently adopt the latest Apple technology and address enterprise mobility and BYOD challenges. This continues Centrify’s long-standing track record of delivering day one support for macOS and iOS releases.

As cloud application adoption continues to grow, so too does the desire to access those apps from any Apple device—including Macs, iPhones and iPads. Today, the onus is on IT to deliver secure access to applications from any device. Centrify customers can rest assured that as users upgrade to the new macOS Sierra and iOS 10 releases, Centrify Identity Service will have them covered.

Centrify Identity Service reduces cost and complexity for IT by unifying security policy across apps, Mac and mobile devices—all in a single solution. This enables IT to ensure that only authorized devices and users have access to corporate information. This is crucial in the modern enterprise, where BYOD initiatives and dissolving perimeters mean security must be based on user and device context.

“As Apple devices continue to gain significant traction in the enterprise, Centrify is proud to deliver day one compatibility support for the latest macOS and iOS releases, while helping protect organizations and their employees against risks,” said Bill Mann, chief product officer for Centrify. “Data breaches continue to dominate the headlines and drive up IT spending. But much of this spend is on legacy perimeter security, which can’t address cloud or mobile use cases. Mobile users, and the devices they choose, must be incorporated into a holistic strategy—and combined with identity—for a contextual, IT-driven security policy to be truly effective.”

Availability

Centrify support for the macOS Sierra release is available today as part of the Centrify Identity Service, Mac Edition. Centrify customers will need to update Centrify for Mac prior to the update of the Operating System to maintain compatibility that enables Active Directory user login.
