BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Career Collaborative, a not-for-profit organization that helps low-income adults find and keep jobs with career potential, is pleased to announce that it has hired Susan P. Yule as its new president and chief executive officer. Yule brings more than 30 years of leadership experience spanning the private and public sector, as well as an extensive background in staffing and recruiting, to her new role at Career Collaborative.
Career Collaborative’s mission is to end working-class poverty by helping adults get and succeed at life-changing jobs, making Massachusetts and its families stronger. Since its founding in 1997, Career Collaborative has helped more than 2,300 families in the Boston area move toward economic self-sufficiency. The nonprofit organization is actively working to expand its role within and eventually beyond the Boston area, and has made significant advancements to its infrastructure under the guidance of its Chairman of the Board of Directors, Art Papas, the founder and CEO of Bullhorn.
Yule’s extensive knowledge and success in the workforce development field along with her recent role as regional director of Institutional Giving for the American Red Cross align well with the mission and direction of growth for Career Collaborative. In addition to her storied nonprofit career, Yule has held numerous private sector roles, including serving as senior vice president at Veritude, a Fidelity Investments company, vice president and general manager at Eliassen Group, a leading recruiting firm, and president and CEO for a Utah-based IT staffing company.
Additionally, she has served on the boards of several professional organizations, including the Utah Technology Council and served as chairman of the New England Minority Supplier Development Council. She currently is on the Board of Trustees for Bridgton Academy. Yule holds an undergraduate degree in English from Bates College and a master’s degree in higher education from Harvard University.
Moving forward, Yule’s primary focus at Career Collaborative will be to leverage both her work in recruitment and in professional development to advance the organization:

Recruitment: Yule will actively advocate alignment with
community relations leaders to communicate the success that Career
Collaborative graduates experience – and encourage referrals of
candidates to the Career Collaborative opportunity through:
- Work preparedness through job search and interview training
- Increased economic stability (and higher salaries) with positions secured through the Career Collaborative experience

Development: Yule will reach out to corporations, foundations,
and federal and individual donors to:
- Support the mission and success of the Career Collaborative program through gifts of time, money, and talent
- Hire graduates of the Career Collaborative program
