CARMEL, Ind.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Allegion, a leading global security products and solutions provider, announced that the technology and hardware upgrades for the Walled Lake Schools project will include more than $2.5 million of Architectural Hardware products. The district-wide project started in 2014 and will conclude this winter.
The Walled Lake Consolidated Schools Technology and Hardware Upgrade Project started two and a half years ago through a school bond in the State of Michigan. The upgrades include 12 elementary schools, four middle schools and three high schools. The overall project was split into four phases, the third of which will be completed this summer. The fourth phase of this project, to be completed this winter, includes finalizing the lock installations for a few remaining buildings. These upgrades include providing access control to approximately 99 percent of the district.
There are a variety of Allegion products being used, including: Schlage® L Series mortise locks, Everest 29TM key system, Schlage AD-400 mortise and cylindrical locks, Schlage AD-400 exit trim, Von Duprin® QEL exit devices, LCN® 4010/4110 door closers, LCN 4600 automatic operators, Ives® hinges and Steelcraft® doors.
“Based on the technical expertise and product support, Allegion products will be standard in our buildings. We have had a great experience with Allegion over the years, which was part of the consideration when choosing Architectural Hardware for this upgrade project,” said Bill Chatfield, Director of Operations for the district. Allegion has provided architectural support to the Walled Lake Schools for more than a decade.
TMP Architecture is the architectural firm responsible for designing the architectural upgrades to the structures. LaForce, Inc. and FBH Architectural Security are the Contract Hardware Distributors on the project, providing Architectural Hardware packages to meet Walled Lake Schools’ needs. Both distributors have and are continuing to oversee the delivery and installation of the majority of the Allegion products from start to finish. Managing the construction of the project is George W. Auch Construction Company.
