WATSONVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Granite Construction Incorporated (NYSE:GVA) announced today that it has been awarded a $22 million contract by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southwest to construct an infantry training facility at the Marine Corps Base in Camp Pendleton, California. The project was booked into Granite’s second quarter 2016 backlog.
This facility is being enhanced to ensure the safety and efficiency of training Marines and joint services personnel. Scope of the work includes the construction of a firing range, targeting systems, supporting facilities and buildings, an access road, underground utilities, lighting, as well as asphalt paving and site improvements.
Construction of the two-year project is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2016.
