Linux Academy Brings Real World Training to University Curriculums

College Students, Professors Supplement IT Coursework with New Education-Based Pricing

DALLAS--()--Today, Linux Academy announces its new education membership pricing packages for current university-level students and professors to supplement classroom learning with hands-on training.

Linux Academy will now offer a 3-month membership for only $60 to any current college or university students looking to enhance their IT education. Additionally, university-level professors are eligible for a free membership to supplement their curriculum with Linux Academy’s resources for Linux, AWS, OpenStack, DevOps, Azure and Big Data (coming soon).

“We are excited to offer memberships specific to the needs of students and their educators,” said Linux Academy founder and CEO Anthony James. “This is a fantastic opportunity for students to apply their learnings in real-world environments, and at a price that fits a student’s budget. Furthermore, we hope to empower professors with additional resources to supplement their students’ education with applications outside of the classroom.”

Professors can complement their curriculum with Linux Academy’s library of video lessons, practice exams, scenario-based server labs and assessments. Once in the system, professors will be able to share a signup code with students to connect with the class. Professors customize curriculums by curating content into specific “Learning Paths” for each class. Professors then assign Learning Paths to students as quizzes, exercises or homework. With their free account, professors can monitor students’ work and progress using Linux Academy tools for benchmarking and automatic grading.

Students who sign up for the discounted rate are eligible to keep their sign-on rate if they maintain membership past the initial three months. Regularly $29 a month, this promotion offers a significant discount for students over time, even after they graduate.

Linux Academy offers the best tools for all levels of learners to prepare for certification in a variety of Linux, AWS, OpenStack, DevOps and Azure topics. With a subscription, students have access to the full learning library, free hands-on server labs, study guides, community forums and live instructors who will answer questions or explain burgeoning competencies.

To participate in this promotion, students and professors alike must have an approved, valid university or college email address. Discount applies to individual memberships, paid on a quarterly basis. For more information, or to join the Linux Academy for Edu program, visit www.linuxacademy.com.
