BTIG Expands Equity Research with Real Estate Investment Trust Team

James Sullivan, Michael Gorman and Tom Catherwood Join BTIG

NEW YORK--()--BTIG, LLC, a global financial services firm specializing in institutional trading, investment banking, research and related brokerage services, announced today that James Sullivan, Michael Gorman, and Tom Catherwood, will join the firm to provide Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) research coverage.

Blank, Jr., Managing Director and Head of Global Equities, at BTIG. “The team will deliver a comprehensive view of the real estate sector through their combined decades of experience.”

Mr. Sullivan joins BTIG as a Managing Director, covering all property types. Most recently, he was a Managing Director and REIT Analyst at Cowen, where he served for the past seven years. Mr. Sullivan held a similar role at Prudential for over a decade. Earlier in his career, he was the Chief Executive Officer for U.S. affiliates of the diversified Korean manufacturer Jindo. Mr. Sullivan was also a Co-Founder and the Chief Executive Officer of Textainer, the world’s largest container leasing company. He began his career as an attorney with Crane and Hawkins in London, specializing in international tax and exchange control regulations.

Mr. Gorman joins BTIG as a Managing Director, covering the healthcare, triple net, strip center and regional mall subsectors. Most recently, he was a Director and REIT Analyst at Cowen. Previously, Mr. Gorman held similar roles at Janney Montgomery Scott, Credit Suisse and Prudential. He began his career as an Equity Analyst at Value Line.

Mr. Catherwood joins BTIG as a Director, covering the office and industrial subsectors. Most recently, he was a Vice President and REIT Analyst at Cowen. Previously, Mr. Catherwood was an Associate within the Real Estate Strategy Group, and a Project Manager and Chief of Staff within the Real Estate and General Services Group at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. He began his career as a Project Manager and Construction Estimator at Grunley Construction.
