LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Robins Kaplan LLP® announced today that Breton A. Bocchieri has joined the firm’s Intellectual Property and Technology Litigation Group as partner. “Bret’s significant trial and litigation successes across intellectual property disciplines make him a perfect fit for our clients, and deepen our bench strength for patent, trademark, and trade secret cases in California,” said Michael Geibelson, managing partner of the firm’s California offices. “As patent litigation has evolved, so has our firm’s approach to solving problems involving intellectual property. Bret’s creativity and multi-disciplinary expertise align perfectly with our evolving practice and our broader goal of protecting intellectual property rights in all their forms and on both sides of the v.”
Mr. Bocchieri joins the firm from Novak Druce. Over the course of his career he has represented many clients in a wide array of industries and technologies. In Qwest Communications Int’l v. One Quest, he obtained the first web-posted TRO in which the defendant was ordered to post an injunction on its website that notified and enjoined users of its website from engaging in infringing activities, resulting in a $117 million judgment for trademark infringement and cybersquatting—the largest award to date in a cyber-piracy case.
“Robins Kaplan’s IP practice is both entrepreneurial and creative,” Mr. Bocchieri said. “I’m thrilled to join such an esteemed group of trial lawyers.”
Mr. Bocchieri has been recognized as an “IP Star” by Managing Intellectual Property magazine for the past four years, and as a California “Super Lawyer” since 2004.
