DALLAS--()--OpenKey, the industry standard for universal mobile key access, today announces its technology was chosen by the Beach House Resort, a coastal retreat along the shoreline of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The Beach House Resort joins a rapidly growing list of marquis hotels nationwide that have selected OpenKey to improve the digital guest experience.

Guests staying at the Beach House Resort are able to access their rooms via the OpenKey smartphone app that seamlessly integrates with the KABA Bluetooth enabled locks. The digital key eliminates issues of demagnetized key cards and provides a convenient on-screen reminder of the guest room number.

“We’re excited to add OpenKey technology to our hotel and provide our guests with an easier way to check-in and access their room,” said Jeff Elseser, general manager at Beach House Resort. “We strive to find new ways to provide our guests with the simplest and most relaxing experience when staying at the Beach House Resort and OpenKey is helping us do that. We feel our guests deserve the best, so OpenKey was the obvious choice.”

The universal technology not only allows guests easy access to their hotel room, it gives them more time to enjoy their vacation by being able to manage their check-in, call the front desk and send their arrival time to the hotel directly from the app.

“We are thrilled to welcome the Beach House Resort to the OpenKey family of customers, and to provide guests modern and secure amenities while staying at the resort,” said Brian Shedd, OpenKey’s vice president of sales and marketing. “Nobody enjoys taking time from a family vacation to deal with room key issues like demagnetization, getting locked out or forgetting which room you’re in, which is why OpenKey was created -- easy to use and right on your phone.”

Built in 2012, the Beach House Resort embraces the island culture, incorporating it in all 202 rooms. The resort is within walking distance of over 100 shops, restaurants and activities at Coligny Plaza as well as championship golf courses, bike paths, and the sandy beach. Having recently undergone $7 million in renovations, the hotel is a coastal retreat with exceptional service, helping guests make the most of their vacation. The Beach House Resort was named one of the Top 10 best resorts in the south by Conde Nast Traveler, with its family friendly activities and the ability to explore the island while enjoying the ocean view.

The OpenKey app is available to download in the iOS App Store and Google Play Store.
