SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Goodreads, the world’s largest site for readers and book recommendations, today launched Goodreads Deals, a new personalized way to help readers not miss out on exceptional deals on ebooks. Goodreads will now email members when there is a deal on an ebook on their Want to Read shelves or by an author they follow on Goodreads. In addition, members can select their preferred genres to get daily emails with deals on books that have rave reviews by the Goodreads community, starting with these four popular genres: Bestsellers, Romance, Mystery & Thrillers, and Fantasy & Science Fiction.
Some of the titles available through Goodreads Deals today include:
- Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell - $1.99
- American Gods by Neil Gaiman - $2.99
- Misery by Stephen King - $1.99
- The Pact by Karina Halle - $0.99
“Readers’ hunger for books often outpaces their wallets,” said Otis Chandler, CEO and co-founder of Goodreads. “Every second, Goodreads members add 6 books to their Want to Read shelves – that’s 15 million books per month they’re interested in reading. Now, when books they’ve already added to Want to Read go on sale, we’ll let them know so they don’t miss out. Goodreads Deals gives our members another great reason to keep their Want to Read list updated on Goodreads.”
Chandler added, “Our mission is to help people find and share books. To date, we’ve focused on creating better ways for readers to discover books. Now with Goodreads Deals, once you’ve found a book you’re interested in, we make it even easier to buy and instantly start reading that book. And with the discounts in Goodreads Deals, readers will be able to read even more books. This program is also a powerful new marketing tool for authors and publishers; being able to reach the size of audience we have with personalized price promotions is a great new opportunity for them.”
Goodreads Deals is currently available for members in the U.S. Members will be able to choose which retailers they would like to see in their personalized deal emails and can select from the following: Amazon Kindle, Apple iBooks, Barnes & Noble Nook, Google Play, and Kobo.
Membership of Goodreads is free. You can access Goodreads through iOS and Android apps, as well as www.goodreads.com.
