KENSINGTON, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Freed Associates, a California-based healthcare consultancy, has expanded their Southern California team with the appointment of healthcare leader Debra Mathias, formerly president and CEO of Mathias Consulting and Research, a healthcare consulting firm in Southern California. Mathias brings noteworthy experience to Freed Associates having served as both a C-Level healthcare executive and strategic consultant during her distinguished career.
As a consultant, leading Mathias Consulting and Research in Irvine, CA and as a senior leader with a national healthcare consulting firm, Mathias directed large scale engagements that involved the C-suite, physician leaders, middle management, and staff. Her expertise in strategic planning, developing and implementing business plans, evaluating value based payment strategies, and developing population health metrics will be invaluable to Freed clients. She has developed population health management strategies including panel management, registry development, and developing complex care transition processes through the utilization of a Population Health Management Intelligence System.
Mathias also brings experience leading acute care facilities at the executive level, giving her a clear understanding of her clients’ needs. In her career, she served as the EVP/COO for two different tertiary pediatric hospitals in Denver, CO and in Orange County, CA and was the CEO of a for-profit community hospital located in Westminster, CA. She has led fiscal turnaround efforts, comprehensive large-scale master campus planning and construction engagements, and integrated delivery system implementations. In addition, Mathias has developed profitable inpatient and ambulatory services and programs, key performance indicators (KPIs), and compliant physician employment models.

Mathias holds an undergraduate degree in nursing from the University of Arizona and a Master of Health Administration from the University of Colorado, Denver.
