BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--State Street Global Advisors (SSGA), the asset management business of State Street Corporation (NYSE:STT), today announced that it has strengthened its leadership team by appointing 25-year industry veteran Cyrus Taraporevala as executive vice president and global head of product and marketing. Taraporevala will also be responsible for overseeing the post-merger integration program for the recently announced acquisition of GE Asset Management.
Taraporevala, age 49, will report to SSGA President and Chief Executive Officer Ron O’Hanley. He joins the firm from Fidelity Investments where he most recently led their Retail Managed Accounts and Life Insurance & Annuities businesses. Previously, he led the product function for all of Fidelity’s retail and institutional investment strategies. Taraporevala has also held leadership roles at BNY Mellon Asset Management, Legg Mason, Citigroup Global Investment Management and McKinsey & Company where he served as a partner in the Financial Institutions practice. Taraporevala has also been involved in all aspects of mergers & acquisitions, including co-leading the Legg Mason-Citigroup Asset Management Post-Merger Integration Program.
