NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Classic Car Club, the world’s first automotive club of its kind, announced today that it has relocated its New York operation to Pier 76 in Manhattan’s Hudson River Park. Pier 76 is across from Jacob Javits Center at 34th Street and is the former home of the New York Police Department Mounted Unit.
Classic Car Club will transform the current pier, consisting of 25,000sqft of indoor space and 13,000sqft of outdoor space, into the new home for automotive culture on the East Coast. The facility will include a new 3,000sqft clubroom for Classic Car Club members and an 11,000sqft auto showroom, river terrace and special events space open to the public. Additionally, Classic Car Club will redevelop the adjacent outdoor space on the south side of Pier 76 into a beautiful public garden with water access for the members of the local community and users of Hudson River Park.
“2015 marked the 20th anniversary of Classic Car Club’s founding in London and 10th year in New York. During this time, Classic Car Club evolved from a quirky start up offering New Yorkers a clever way to get behind the wheel of extraordinary cars to the home of automotive aficionados, adventure seekers, racers and manufactures alike,” said Michael Prichinello, co-founder of CCC and TheNINETY. “Classic Car Club has grown to become the epicenter of New York City’s bustling car culture and a destination for auto enthusiasts from around the globe. The unbelievable view of the Hudson River from Pier 76 will provide the perfect backdrop for our collection of cars and an unprecedented hub for our members, auto enthusiasts and members of the local community to share their passion for anything on wheels.”
At Pier 76, Classic Car Club will be able to expand its offering and serve a larger community through Clubhouse Memberships and a full calendar of public special events and educational programming.
The new location will also be home to theNINETY - a new, motor-centric creative agency conceived by the founders of the Classic Car Club team. With its decades of experience in buying, selling, racing, modifying and loving cars and motorcycles, the crew has become the world’s foremost arbiters of automobile culture. This experience provides theNINETY with a unique value proposition to advise automotive, motorcycle and motorsport-related brands on how to properly communicate to customers in a smart, unexpected and modern way. TheNINETY’s new facility will include a cinema and photographic studio on the waterfront.
The Classic Car Club pioneered the shared experience model, has owned more than 600 superb automobiles and brought a raft of once-in-a-lifetime motoring experiences to its members. Quickly after its introduction, cosseted classics and exotic super cars began dotting the streets of New York, the Hamptons and destinations in all directions. The club looks forward to continuing the tradition from its new waterfront home.
