COMPUTEX 2016 Releases Exhibitor List: More Than 1,600 Exhibitors Represent the Complete ICT Supply Chain

IoT Technologies and Startups will be Highly Represented and Showcased with New InnoVEX and SmarTEX Exhibits

TAIPEI, Taiwan--()--COMPUTEX TAIPEI, the leading global ICT show with a complete supply chain, today unveiled its exhibitor list at a press conference in Taipei showcasing its success in representing the global technology ecosystem. Spokespersons from the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and the Taipei Computer Association (TCA), the hosting organizations of COMPUTEX, convened with prominent exhibitors Siemens, NXP Semiconductors and Asus to present their vision of the Internet of Things (IoT) and how it will shape the future.

COMPUTEX 2016 exhibitor list reflects complete tech ecosystem

TAITRA Executive Vice President Walter Yeh announced COMPUTEX has recruited more than 1,600 exhibitors from 26 countries in over 5,000 booths to display the latest information and communications technologies. Siemens returns to COMPUTEX after three years while ABB, the leading industrial robot manufacturer from Switzerland, will exhibit at COMPUTEX for the first time. Other world-renowned exhibitors include Acer, ASUS, Intel, Mercedes-Benz, Microsoft, NXP, Supermicro, and many more. Startups including CareMonkey, Dronamics, BLOCKS, KonoLabs, Connecterra, and Lucid VR who have won prestigious awards such as Slush, Web Summit, and Garage+ will be showcased in the new InnoVEX exhibit.

“COMPUTEX this year will offer buyers around the world a complete global technology ecosystem featuring IoT applications, innovative startups, business solutions, and gaming,” said TAITRA Executive Vice President Walter Yeh.

eSports also highlighted at COMPUTEX 2016

Mr. Yeh also presented eSports as a hot global trend, and Taiwan has vast resources and capabilities for integrating software and hardware in the gaming industry. This year, COMPUTEX invited more than 30 gaming giants including MSI, Cooler Master, G.SKILL, IN WIN, and Thermaltake, who will display their latest breakthrough technologies. HWBOT and COMPUTEX will partner to offer the HWBOT World Tour 2016 – Asia, an overclocking competition that will appear on Twitch.tv.

New position, themes and exhibits at COMPUTEX 2016

With ICT technology trends shifting away from mobile to IoT, and startups driving innovation in IoT, Mr. Yeh presented COMPUTEX’s new positioning, “Building Partnerships in Internet Computing Ecosystems,” and its four main themes that reflect and support IoT innovation: IoT applications, innovative startups, business solutions, and gaming.

Business solutions such as mobile devices and point-of-sale systems are the foundation of the exhibition, while Taiwan’s strength in ICT entrepreneurship, innovation, technology, intellectual property protections and manufacturing partnerships including rapid prototyping will also be showcased throughout COMPUTEX.

Mr. Yeh also discussed the show’s three new exhibits:

  • SmarTEX, supporting the conference theme of IoT applications, has attracted around 160 exhibitors to display the newest in IoT and smart tech applications with emphases on home and entertainment, smart security control, smart car and automotive electronics, wearables and 3D printing.
  • InnoVEX, supporting the conference theme of innovative startups, features startup exhibits, keynotes, forums, demos, matchmaking, pitch contests with a winning prize of $30,000 USD, and networking events to maximize innovative, technological, and investment exchanges to help startups succeed.
  • iStyle, supporting the conference theme of business solutions, will feature Apple-certified peripherals and apps.
