Good Days Announces New Alliance with Help-4-Hep to Provide Holistic Support for People with Hepatitis C

PLANO, Texas--()--Good Days, a national non-profit providing financial assistance to patients with chronic disease, cancer, and other life-altering illness, announced its partnership with Help-4-Hep, a non-profit providing peer-to-peer counseling to patients affected with hepatitis C, in the effort to offer a complete approach to serving patients.

Hepatitis C is a silent and potentially deadly chronic liver disease. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention*, baby boomers represent 75 percent of the estimated 3.2 million people with hepatitis C in the US. Working together, Good Days and Help-4-Hep will ensure that people living with hepatitis C have access to both financial and patient support resources, providing them with holistic support to best manage their disease.

“Good Days works to reduce the financial barriers that come with the critical treatments needed to battle diseases like hepatitis C,” said Executive Director, Clorinda Walley. “Working closely with Help-4-Hep will enable us to connect people with hepatitis C to the resources that address their needs beyond financial support.”

Combining Help-4-Hep’s support services with Good Days’ financial assistance program will allow people living with hepatitis C to access the treatment and services they need to improve their quality of life.

“Many people diagnosed with hepatitis C don’t know where to turn. It can be a terribly confusing time. We provide those patients with the latest information about treatment and financial assistance programs to help them gain access to the best medical care available,” said Dennis Simon, Managing Partner of Help-4-Hep. “We are pleased to be able to help patients find financial assistance through Good Days so they have access to the treatments that can literally save their lives.”

Patients who qualify for Good Days’ hepatitis C assistance program are eligible to receive up to $30,000 per year in financial assistance. Eligible patients must reside and receive treatment in the United States, must have health insurance, and the medication for which they seek assistance must be covered by their insurance and treat the disease directly. In addition, patients must fall at or below 500 percent of the Federal Poverty Level.

Patients, or advocates and caregivers applying on the patients’ behalf, can apply for assistance via Good Days’ online patient portal at GoodDaysfromCDF.org, or by calling 1-877-968-7233, Monday – Friday, 8am to 5pm Central Time.
