ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Stibo Systems, the global leader in multidomain Master Data Management (MDM) solutions, today announced that its award-winning MDM solution STEP has been certified by 1WorldSync, the leading multi-enterprise product information network, certified for the GS1 Global Data Standardization Network™ (GDSN®). STEP received this certification for successfully proving the “Data Source” and “Data Recipient” capabilities for GS1 GDSN standards 2.8. As part of this agreement, the company also formed a strategic partnership with 1WorldSync in order to strengthen both organization’s go to market and business development activities.
As a result of this certification, Stibo also announces the immediate availability of Stibo Systems STEP GDSN, a cloud-based solution which helps customers register and publish product and packaging GDSN data. The solution provides users with a range of advanced, bi-directional data publishing and synchronization tools that extend the scope of STEP within the information supply chain. As pressure intensifies on supply chains to deliver products faster and more efficiently, manufacturers, distributors and retailers worldwide are implementing global data synchronization strategies and the Global Data Synchronization Network to manage the large volumes of product data and adhere to the growing number of compliance requirements.
“As a joint venture of GS1 Germany and GS1 US, 1WorldSync solutions and services allow companies to share trusted product information with one another and with consumers, which drives business and provides more convenience for organizations worldwide,” said Dan Wilkinson, CCO, 1WorldSync. “Partnering with Stibo Systems allows 1WorldSync to expand our market reach and ensure that we are providing our customers with the highest quality MDM solutions available. Further, the availability of Stibo Systems’ on MjR3 enables their customers to more efficiently synchronize their data via GDSN due to the solutions ability to support complex data structures and multi-level packaging hierarchies.”
GS1 standards use a unique set of identification numbers for products, companies, locations, services, assets, logistics units and customers at any point in the supply chain. Regardless of where a business is based or what language it uses, trading partners can always understand one another using GS1 standards. Partners across all industries who employ GS1 can increase their business efficiency by preventing errors and reducing costs and time.
Stibo Systems STEP GDSN enables suppliers and distributors to register and publish product and packaging data to the 1WorldSync Data Pool. These products can then be subsequently published to a specific trading party, via the GDSN, while tracking the status inside STEP. Updates to published products are tracked so that they may be republished which is especially valuable for manufacturers that are required by retailers to deliver data through GDSN. 1WorldSync also confirms STEP’s ability to help retailers subscribe to and synchronize the product and packaging data, which is published by suppliers to the 1WorldSync Data Pool.
“With each organization using its own data conventions and formats, locating, transporting and trading goods becomes inefficient and costly, as inconsistent and incomplete supply chain information increases errors, reduces agility, and impacts the ability to quickly introduce new products,” said Todd Callen, Executive Vice President, North America at Stibo Systems. “Stibo Systems STEP GDSN helps organizations connect data pools to the GS1 Global Registry, and leverage the data exchange throughout the entire global supply chain. This reduces errors and creates accurate, up-to-date and compliant information.”
