--(BUSINESS WIRE)--On February 28, 2016 during the Annual Dialysis Conference (ADC) in Seattle, WA, Fresenius Renal Technologies will present Wyoming resident, Diana Pacheco, with its annual Pioneer in Excellence Award to recognize her commitment to home hemodialysis (HHD) and her role as a patient advocate.
Pacheco, who has been on dialysis for more than 30 years, lives with chronic renal failure. She is an advocate for home hemodialysis and sets a fine example for others living with chronic kidney disease.
She has worked full time at the Rawlins National Bank in Wyoming for over 30 years, undeterred by her need for dialysis treatments. She has consistently shown her community that her chronic disease has never defined who she is.
The annual Pioneer in Excellence Award is a national award presented by Fresenius Renal Technologies to patients with exceptional resiliency and commitment to the modality of home hemodialysis. Diana Pacheco embodies all of the characteristics this award represents and for this reason, she will be honored in 2016.
