“Premio Lo Nuestro” to Once Again Set Social Media Records with Fan-First, Cross-Platform Experience Including Live Video and Exclusive Celebrity Content

MIAMI--()--The all-star artists who take the stage during Univision Network’s “Premio Lo Nuestro a la Música Latina” (PLN) will not be the only ones making headlines this year as they take fans on a PLN journey across multiple social media platforms. Airing LIVE on the Univision Network and via Univision NOW on Thursday, February 18, 2016, at 7 p.m. ET/PT (6 p.m. Central), from the American Airlines Arena in Miami, PLN will give fans an immersive, exclusive experience alongside their favorite celebrities – from Snapchat stories and Facebook Live to Twitter amplify and Instagram documentary-styled content.

  • PremioLoNuestro.com Live Streaming - Fans will not miss a beat, with access to a five-hour livestream featuring six camera angles from strategic points and guest stars. The action is set to kick off with the magenta carpet special, “Noche de Estrellas” (Night of Stars) and continue all the way through the main show, hosted by Nastassja Bolivar, 2011 Nuestra Belleza Latina and Variety Latino correspondent, Stephanie Bradford, on Univision.com and PremioLoNuestro.com.
  • Facebook Live – In an unparalleled experience, users will be able to connect with their favorite celebs on the magenta carpet during “Noche de Estrellas” on PLN’s Facebook page.
  • Twitter Q&A - Fans will able to Tweet their questions to celebrities during rehearsals and during “Noche de Estrellas” with the opportunity to receive video responses from their favorite celebrities.

William Valdés, beloved Univision personality, will co-host the PLN “Noche de Estrellas” and bring fans closer to the stars. In addition, Univision Creator Network talent Eric Ochoa, aka SUPEReeeGO, will walk the carpet, attend the show and create content exclusively for his fans. Joining the biggest night in Latin music, YouTuber Rosy McMichael will show fans how to get fashion-ready for PLN and bring them insider action right from the carpet.

T-Mobile returns for the fourth year as presenting sponsor of Premio Lo Nuestro. Its trademark magenta carpet will be featured during live broadcast including “Noche de Estrellas” (Night of Stars), a live pre-show special that gives fans a first peek at the talent arrivals. T-Mobile, working with Premio Lo Nuestro-nominated Sofia Reyes and other notable female talent, will also rally Hispanic women to celebrate one another. Across social media, T-Mobile will ask fans to give shout-outs to the deserving women in their lives using #EllasMandan and @TMobileLatino. During the award show, T-Mobile will celebrate 2016 Trayectoria Award recipient Paquita la del Barrio, a woman who has broken barriers in the music industry for decades to inspire women around the world with her independent spirit.

On the night of the broadcast, McDonald’s will sponsor Univision’s PLN Twitter Amplify content, including video clips and GIFs of the biggest moments of the night on Twitter – from performance highlights to acceptance speeches.

Walmart and PLN will produce a series of videos. Hosted by popular urban singer Maluma, the videos will share Maluma’s personal story about how he reached success and works to inspire those around him to “live better.” The videos will be featured on PLN’s Twitter and Facebook platforms.

  • On the Road to PLN, “Follow the Star” Urban music sensation Reggaetonero Farruko, who is nominated for Album and Artist of Year in the Urban category, gives fans an inside look at his life, home, family and trips, including his tour in Colombia where he collaborated with J Balvin in a concert.
  • #BossBeeNation fans will receive “Full Access” to their favorite sensation: Chiquis. Nominated for Female Artist of the Year in the Mexican Regional category, Chiquis will welcome fans into her home and offer an inside look into her exercise routine and life as an entrepreneur directly from her beauty salon, as well as exclusive excerpts from her new book.
  • Univision Conecta will deliver an interactive experience for users. Fans will vote on their favorite #retrogram GIF fashions, participate in polls and trivia to show off their knowledge of nominated artists and all things PLN, and see everything that’s happening backstage from a multi-angle camera.
  • To celebrate Sin Bandera’s return in style, fans can reminisce about their favorite Sin Bandera song using the hashtag #SB+YourFavoriteSong. Even better, Sin Bandera will select their fan favorite and perform it on the PLN stage.
  • Exclusively on the magenta carpet, fans will be able to take photos with their favorite celebrity via the Twitter Mirror Selfie Station.
  • Internationally renowned singer and composer Carlos Vives will be honored with this year’s “Premio Lo Nuestro a la Excelencia” and bring fans a powerhouse-celebrity-and-artist-filled performance. Fans will be able to join the excitement before and during the performance with hashtag #VivesLaMusica.
  • Leading up to the show, users can stream their favorite PLN nominees’ music and interviews on the PLN exclusive channel on the Uforia App.
  • PLN fandoms will also be able to listen to their favorite nominated artists’ songs in an exclusive “Premio Lo Nuestro” playlist on Spotify.
  • Following “Noche de Estrellas,” fans will have the opportunity to vote for the best and worst dressed of the night on premiolonuestro.com.
