NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bonnie Jonas, a former Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York (SDNY) and Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division and Tiffany Moller, also a former SDNY prosecutor and most recently Assistant Deputy Commissioner and Chief of Compliance and Oversight for the New York City Police Department (NYPD), today announced the launch of Pallas Global Group, LLC (“Pallas”). Pallas will offer monitorships and claims administration and resolution services to government agencies and major corporations worldwide.
Pallas’ founding principals have 25 years of combined experience overseeing historic and complex matters. Jonas investigated and prosecuted individuals at WorldCom and Commerzbank and prosecuted and oversaw reforms through corporate monitorships of Deutsche Bank, Toyota, and General Motors. Moller served with Jonas at the SDNY and recently had responsibility for oversight for the NYPD, including one of the largest municipal monitorships in the country.
Jonas stated: “Pallas is a natural outgrowth of the work we have both done for so many years in government. My job as a prosecutor was to bring as much analytic rigor and common sense as I could to the tasks of finding the truth and achieving a fair result. Pallas will enable me to continue doing just that, with the same dedication, and with a partner of stellar integrity and experience. “
Monitorships are imposed with increasing frequency by government-mandated resolutions and court orders requiring companies and agencies to carry out internal reforms, and proactively by public and private institutions seeking to ensure ethical practices. Pallas will provide monitorship services to companies and agencies that have been required by agreement or court order to conduct internal reforms or seek to proactively ensure ethical practices.
Moller stated: “Pallas is an independent and conflict-free alternative to the burgeoning monitorship market. We will bring the same integrity, discipline, and precision that we’ve honed in government to help companies and agencies tackle the challenges they face in enacting internal reforms, protecting against future misconduct, and strengthening their corporate cultures. As former prosecutors supported by exceptional accounting and auditing resources, we offer a unique combination of credibility and efficiency to entities in need of oversight and claims administration services.”
Jonas’s most recent position with the SDNY was as Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division, from 2013 to 2016. She also served as the SDNY’s Financial Fraud Coordinator for President Obama’s Financial Fraud Enforcement Task Force and as the Chief of the General Crimes Unit. Prior to joining the SDNY, Jonas was an attorney with the law firm Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison and a law clerk for the Honorable Reena Raggi of the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of New York. Earlier in her career, Jonas worked as a consultant at Peterson Consulting, where she evaluated settlement amounts in connection with pending asbestos litigation. Jonas is a graduate of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and Columbia University School of Law.
From 2014 to 2016, Moller was an Assistant Deputy Commissioner and Chief of Compliance and Oversight for the NYPD. In that role, Moller was responsible for coordinating the NYPD’s response to recently created oversight bodies, including the Inspector General for the NYPD and a court-ordered monitor to oversee the reform of the NYPD’s stop and frisk practices. Earlier in her career, Moller served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the SDNY’s Securities and Commodities Fraud Task Force, where she tried and won numerous cases in the New York and Los Angeles Federal District Courts. Prior to joining the SDNY, Moller was an attorney with Sullivan and Cromwell, working on criminal defense of large financial institutions as well as a wide array of commercial litigation matters. She is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and a summa cum laude graduate of the Washington College of Law at American University, where she was named Outstanding Graduate and served as Executive Editor of the Law Review. She was a law clerk for the Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, the Honorable Claude M. Hilton.
