CARLSBAD, Calif.--()--In an effort to encourage category growth and engage new collectors, Upper Deck is working with its Certified Diamond Dealers, the NHL® and the NHLPA to produce hundreds of thousands of hockey card packs that will be given away for FREE as a part of Upper Deck’s National Hockey Card Day initiative. Over the years, National Hockey Card Day has been credited with introducing hockey fans to the exciting world of collecting hockey cards. With this season’s highly sought after rookie class, fans have been chomping at the bit to get their free packs, which is sure to drive record numbers! Fans throughout Canada and the United States simply need to visit a participating retailer on Saturday, February 6 to receive a free Upper Deck National Hockey Card Day pack featuring favorite rookies, stars and legendary players.

Canada and the United States each have their own exclusively themed National Hockey Card Day packs comprised of 15 total cards (five rookies, five current stars and five legends). A special 16th card is available as a gift with any $10 Upper Deck NHL® purchase, while supplies last. The 16th card features unique NHL Draft™ day imagery of Connor McDavid in Canada and Jack Eichel in the USA. Randomly inserted into some of these packs are very limited autograph cards that are sure to provide a thrill to any fan lucky enough to pull one. Many of Upper Deck’s network of Certified Diamond Dealers are preparing for the event by running specials, fun promotions and additional giveaways in an effort to make the day memorable for everyone who walks through their doors.
