DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--utiliVisor, a leading provider of energy monitoring and submetering services, has opened an office in Dallas to provide comprehensive energy advisory services in Texas and throughout the Southwest, in partnership with TD Industries.
The new utiliVisor operations will be managed by Ken Scheepers, a former Building Performance Manager at TD Industries in Dallas, who has been named Director of Energy Advisory Services at utiliVisor Southwest.
“utiliVisor and TD Industries have a long track record of providing advisory services that enable our clients to realize significant energy savings,” Mr. Scheepers pointed out. “We have saved such customers as Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas State University at San Marcos, and the University of Texas at Arlington millions of dollars in operational savings over the past few years.”
utiliVisor Southwest offers both energy plant monitoring services and energy submetering and billing. The company provides cloud-based monitoring systems that enable building owners to optimize chiller plants and district cooling and heating systems, resulting in 12- 20 percent energy savings.
Built on open standards, the utiliVisor platform collects, monitors and interprets energy use in real-time while monetizing system operations. Customized analysis and analytics combined with experienced engineering experts provide insights and actionable recommendations to help maximize efficiency and minimize capital expenditures.
“utiliVisor believes in local control at the plant and doesn’t control from the cloud,” Mr. Scheepers explained. “And our services are easily adaptable to all facilities because utiliVisor is product and technology agnostic.”
According to Mr. Scheepers, the utiliVisor technical platform is the key element toward enabling college and university campuses, hospitals and commercial buildings to achieve their energy efficiency goals. “With end to end energy monitoring and performance analysis performed by experienced engineers interpreting the fact-based data, we are able to track utilities from the point of generation at each plant through to consumption,” he said. “This enables utiliVisor engineers to create energy savings at every critical point of a facility’s utility system, and has resulted in over $8.8 million savings in Texas over the past six and one-half years, with minimal capital investment."
utiliVisor Southwest also provides energy metering services that ensure the accuracy of submetering and utility billing in campus settings and for large commercial properties. “Our energy metering services make it easy to manage and measure utility consumption for cost recovery and to provide reliable and accurate billing for building tenants,” Mr. Scheepers noted. “For example, on behalf of Brookfield Property Partners’ 2 and 3 Allen Center buildings in Houston, the utiliVisor system is providing the latest submetering and utility accounting technologies, offering a customizable, expandable and dependable platform for the accurate analysis and allocation of all tenant utility costs.”
Mr. Scheepers, who was honored in 2015 by the Dallas Business Journal as a Who’s Who in Energy Services, has 45 years of experience as an energy advisor. At TD Industries, he was responsible for implementing energy efficiency projects at Texas Woman’s University (TWU), George Bush International Airport, the George R Brown Convention Center, City Place in Dallas, and the TWU’s , T. Boone Pickens Institute of Health Science, among others. A graduate of Technikon in South Africa where he studied mechanical engineering, he is a member of the North Texas Association of Energy Engineers, Texas Association for Physical Plant Administrators, and the Texas Association for Healthcare Facilities Management.
