MindWell Launches ‘30 Day Mindfulness Challenge’ to Help Employees Lower Stress and Improve Performance

Innovative online training launches with employees at Coca-Cola Canada, tech juggernaut Urthecast, the University of British Columbia and more

VANCOUVER, British Columbia--()--MindWell launches its 30 Day Mindfulness Challenge this week after more than one year in development. The innovative online training teaches mindfulness in the workplace in just five to 10 minutes a day so employees can experience less stress, more joy and peak performance. It also helps organizations by improving employee engagement, resiliency and conflict management skills.

In preliminary testing, all participants reported learning the Challenge’s core mindfulness technique and say they will continue to integrate it into their daily lives. In addition, 100 per cent reported a reduction in stress levels at work, more than 80 per cent reported an increase in focus at work and 100 per cent said they would refer the Challenge to a friend or colleague. Other reported benefits include increased productivity, better conflict management and improved engagement.

“The Challenge is unique and highly effective because it is rooted in neuroscience, personalized, includes a Buddy for each employee at no additional cost and can be accessed on any device, anytime and anywhere,” says Dr. Geoff Soloway, Chief Training Officer, MindWell. “It’s especially effective for busy, on-the-go people who don’t have time to attend lengthy, in-person mindfulness classes. This training is better not more.”

“The Take 5 mindfulness practice that I learned in the Challenge is now a part of my daily routine,” says Ian Shanks, account manager at a Berkshire Hathaway Company. “My business is full of distractions that don’t bring results but the Take 5 mindfulness practice keeps me calm and allows me to focus on what matters. This helps drive my business forward.”

“Coca-Cola Canada is pleased to make the 30 Day Mindfulness Challenge available to all its Associates across Canada,” says Tova White, Vice President of Human Resources, Coca-Cola Refreshments Canada. “As an organization, we’re always looking for ways to support our people without adding more to their busy days. This online training, plus the in-person mindfulness workshops MindWell has conducted with our Associates and Leaders, are helping to support Coca-Cola’s commitment to wellbeing.”

“With more than 500,000 Canadians missing work each day because of mental health problems, costing businesses $6 billion a year, it’s no wonder savvy organizations are looking for proven ways to better support their people,” added Soloway.

While mindfulness is an ancient wisdom tradition, today it is an evidence-based training used in government, healthcare, education, military and business settings to decrease stress, anxiety and depression and increase performance, focus, memory and creativity.
