LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--IBC is delighted to announce that submissions for its prestigious Technical Papers & Posters have now opened!
The rigorously peer-reviewed Technical Papers are one of the most important parts of the IBC Conference and, over the years, have showcased some of the most visionary thinking in the industry. They habitually unveil some of the very latest technological innovations and thinking from the leading broadcasters and research institutes around the world, giving them a platform to speak to the global community of influencers and C-level delegates that comprise the IBC Conference audience.
Proposals for the IBC2016 Technical Papers and Posters should be a written synopsis of roughly 300 words. IBC’s Technical Papers Committee reviews all proposals and, if selected, these are then worked up to full papers suitable for publication and presentation at IBC2016 in September.
Technical Posters are selected alongside the Technical Papers and will be on display at IBC2016 for all attendees to view at the IBC Future Zone.
Competition to feature at the IBC Conference is fierce, and is amplified by the contest to win the IBC Best Conference Paper Award. This is presented to the paper which both advances the industry’s knowledge and does so in the most clear and informative way. In 2015, the award went to Andrew Cotton and Tim Borer of BBC Research & Development for their paper 'A Display Independent High Dynamic Range Television System’. Previous winners also include: Italy’s RAI; SAM; Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute; NHK; and NDS.
“The IBC Technical Papers & Posters are unique as they stand and fall purely on their technical merit alone,” comments Michael Lumley, Chair of the Technical Papers Committee. “There is no marketing spin, no commercial pressure, just some of the brightest minds and keenest technologies competing for those prestigious few slots in the IBC Conference Programme. As ever, the committee is excited to see how our entrants will challenge conventional orthodoxy and bring exciting fresh insights into the industry’s premier global forum for examining new technologies.”
